A Day at Chew Valley Lake for Our Rowan Park Residents

Days out are an important part of life at Rowan Park, offering residents the chance to enjoy new scenery and create special memories with one another. Recently, we were delighted to take a group of residents on a relaxing trip to Chew Valley Lake, where they enjoyed fresh air and beautiful views.
Peaceful Surroundings and Happy Memories
The beautiful views on our trip gave our residents the chance to share fond memories of holidays and days gone by. Chew Valley Lake is well known as a haven for wildlife, making it a lovely place to pause and enjoy the fresh air.

Time spent outdoors in a calm, natural setting can be especially valuable for older adults, offering opportunities for gentle movement and overall wellbeing. The lake’s visitor area also provides accessible paths and benches, allowing residents to comfortably take in the scenery at their own pace.
Fish and Chips by the Lake
After all that fresh air, everyone had certainly worked up an appetite. We enjoyed a traditional lunch of fish and chips, which was a firm favourite among our residents and the perfect way to round off the day.
Some residents chose to finish their meal with an affogato, which proved very popular and added a deliciously indulgent touch to the occasion.

A Relaxing Day Together
It was a calming and enjoyable outing, filled with good food, beautiful views, fresh air and plenty of time to chat and enjoy each other’s company. We are already looking forward to planning more opportunities for our residents to enjoy days out, connect with nature, and spend quality time together.
