We understand that people’s wellbeing an health demands can change over time, which is why we tailor all of our care to adapt this. Care during Covid-19 Questions

When transferring from the community or another care home an individual doesn’t need to isolate if the circumstances within the care home/interim care facility from which the person has transferred are known.

If the resident has symptoms or has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19, then they should isolate and perform two LFT tests on day 0 and again on day 2. Isolation can end following two negative tests.

If the resident ends up testing positive within the home, they must be isolated for 5 days. The resident can then return to their normal activities if they feel well enough and do not have a high temperature (without the use of medication/paracetamol)

Residents who test positive should always avoid contact with other people who are eligible for COVID-19 treatments for at least 10 days after a positive test. Residents unable to take a test should isolate for 5 days.

We ensure that:

  • Staff members, residents and visitors remain as safe as possible from the risks of COVID-19.
  • There are clear procedures and protocols in place which align with the legislation and guidance issued by the government and key sector bodies.
  • There are clearly defined company-wide responsibilities to mitigate the ongoing risks of COVID-19, with flexible and strategic leadership provided by the Operational Leadership Team.
  • Procedural guidance is regularly reviewed and communicated across the company.
  • Information is provided to ensure staff, residents and visitors are well informed, particularly of the steps to be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and what to do in the event of a person becoming infected.

Back in September 2022, the guidance to wear a face mask when visiting a care home came to a stop in Scotland. Meaning you’re no longer required to wear a face mask when visiting a loved one. However, if you would prefer to continue wearing one during your visit, then we will support you. There also could be occasions when a care home does request visitors to wear a mask, for example, if there was an outbreak in the home.

During an outbreak, we’re likely to carry out a risk assessment to include but not limit the control of visiting arrangements, use of the communal areas and admissions to the home for a period of time.

We work close with local and national agencies in accordance with local agreements and guidance, for more information, please get in contact with our Home Manager.
