Alpacas Visit Rowan Park

residents getting visited from alpacas

This month at Rowan Park, we had the privilege of welcoming some furry friends into our care home. Creating an opportunity for residents to meet them and experience time with animals that they have never had the chance to before.

Alpacas came to visit our wonderful residents at Rowan Park. The residents had a wonderful time and their smiles said it all. Liquorice and Sockatese came to visit and were extremely well-behaved.

Our activities team organised this event, as some of our residents were keen to meet alpacas, as they had never had the chance to be up close with them before. And were thrilled to get the opportunity to do so.

Memories were made not only for the residents but staff also enjoyed the opportunity to interact with residents and Alpacas.

We love the chance to bring animals into the care home as they have such great effects on residents and their wellbeing. With numerous benefits to offering animal therapy within our care home such as reduced loneliness, cognitive stimulation, improved physical health and alleviation of stress.

This was a great experience for all, and we're looking forward to hosting other events like this in the future as meeting animals is a favourite amongst residents here at Rowan Park Care Home. A massive thank you to Alpaca Adventure for helping to make this possible.

See how we can support your loved ones with a varied activities programme.
