At Rowan Park, we are proud of the compassionate and dedicated care we provide to our residents, particularly within our dementia community, Nettlebridge. This month, we want to shine a light on the incredible work that takes place within this specialist community every day, ensuring that residents living with dementia experience comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging.

Nettlebridge is more than just a care environment—it is a true home, where residents are supported to live fulfilling and enriched lives. Our experienced and fully trained dementia care team understands the importance of personalised care, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere tailored to individual needs. From meaningful activities to therapeutic interventions, every aspect of daily life is carefully designed to promote well-being and independence.

Our residents in our Nettlebridge community enjoy a wide variety of stimulating activities, all of which are adapted to suit their abilities and preferences. These include music therapy, movement sessions, sensory activities, and Doll Therapy, all of which have been shown to provide comfort and emotional connection. Creativity is also an important part of life at Rowan Park, with residents taking part in pottery classes, art sessions, gardening, and baking. For those who love the outdoors and social outings, trips to garden centres and local shops provide a wonderful opportunity to engage with the wider community and enjoy a change of scenery.

The Wellbeing Team plays a vital role in ensuring that every day is filled with purpose and enjoyment. Whether it’s supporting a resident to continue a favourite hobby, encouraging social interaction, or simply providing a listening ear, the team is dedicated to making a real difference. Our focus is on maintaining dignity, respect, and individuality, ensuring that residents feel valued at every stage of their dementia journey.

Beyond the daily activities, the care and support provided at Nettlebridge extend to families as well. We know how important it is for relatives to feel reassured that their loved ones are happy, comfortable, and well cared for as well as having somebody to answer questions or soothe any worries they have.

Every member of our team is fully trained in dementia care and has developed invaluable skills and experience to support residents with understanding and empathy. More importantly, they are passionate about creating a positive and homely environment where residents can feel safe, engaged, and empowered.
